Day 3: The humidity here is crazy!

Hello friends and family,
Today was a good day. The girl's are feeling a little more comfortable here. They got their Philippine National welcome packet which had several pairs of shorts, shirts, track tights, sweatsuit and shoes. That made them feel good (I will post a picture on the next post). They even gave me two polo shirts with the Philippine national emblem. The workout today was tough for the girls because of the humidity, but they ran well, and the best thing was that neither of them complained of injuries (I am keeping my fingers crossed). They also got massages today at the Philippine Center for Sports Medicine by Benji (see picture below). The Rizal Memorial Coliseum where the girls are training at houses all of the Philippine National Sports prospects who are training for the 2013 South East Asian Games. They live in several surrounding dorms where their housing is provided free of charge. It was nice to see people from the different sports like basketball, judo, baseball and other sports all working out in the weight room, getting treatment and massages. It was good for the girls to see athletes that are committed to being the best they can at their particular sport.  As I am writing this post the girls are sleeping, it's 3am over here. They are adjusting a bit better that I am to the time zone difference. They need there sleep because tomorrow they are running fast and working on coming out of the blocks. We also got to visit a mall today here in Rizal (they call it the small mall), it is huge and most of it is swap meet style, however they have several very nice department stores inside. We hope to visit The Mall of Asia later this week before we head to China on Saturday. Tomorrow I hope to include a message from the girls in their own words. Thanks again for all of your support. If you have somoene who you would like me to add to the email list please leave a message in the comment section, or email me.
